Raul Khajimba met with representatives of three international organizations

SUKHUM -- President Raul Khajimba has met with representatives of three international organizations. UNDP Permanent Representative and UN Resident Coordinator Niels Scott, UNHCR Representative for the South Caucasus Simone Wolken, and UNICEF Regional Department head Alexander Graumann met with the head of state for the first time in this format.

The meeting focused on issues relating to the activities of international organizations on the territory of Abkhazia and on projects in agriculture, education, and medicine.

The President praised the role of the organizations in the post-war period.

"The presence in Abkhazia of three international structures shows that the UN has a considerable interest in the republic,” said Niels Scott.

Khajimba said that the priorities should be determined by the state. "It is the state that should build relationships in the interest of developing such fields of activity, whether education or medicine," the President believes.
