Abkhazia plans flights to Turkey, Russia

The head of the Sukhum airport said that they would like to start work with Russia in the next month.

Abkhazia plans to restore regular flights between its capital, Sukhum, and some other countries including Turkey.

The head of the Sukhum airport Eshba told RIA Novosti on Sunday they are holding talks with Russia's minister for transport and they would like to start work in the next month.

Eshba said initial flights would be to Moscow and the southern Russian cities of Rostov-on-Don and Krasnodar.

There are many Abkhazian people in Turkey.
