SUKHUM -- On May 12, 2011 Maxim Gunjia Minister for foreign affairs of Abkhazia met with the delegation of social and political organization “Issui-Kai” from Japan. Kimura Matsukhiro, Yamaguti Tsuesi, Nakamura Khiromiti and Furusava Keysuke were members of the delegation.
The sides greeted each other, Minister presented his condolences to them in connection with tragic events in Japan in March 2011 and expressed his readiness as a token of friendship to receive Japanese children from regions affected by natural calamity and nuclear catastrophe on the territory of Abkhazia. During the visit the delegation laid flowers on the memorials of Heroes in the Park of Glory. They are going to make a number of meetings with the leader of the country, representatives of political parties, to visit Abkhazian schools and plant trees in the centre of the city. Both sides expressed their wish to develop in future political, trade and economic relations between states and people of two countries. The Japanese delegation underlined presence of all signs of statehood of Abkhazia, recognizing its rightful sovereignty and assured that they will make every effort for broad information concerning Abkhazia among general public of Japan.
