The Seagull continues to highlight the creative excellence of the Abkhaz State Theatre.
The premiere of The Seagull, one of Anton Chekhov’s most renowned plays, took place on 30 October at the Samson Chanba Abkhaz State Drama Theatre.
Among the audience were Vice Prime Minister of the Republic Taras Khagba and Minister of Finance Said Gubaz.
The Seagull is a world-famous play in which Chekhov breaks traditional dramatic conventions, leaving ample space for interpretation. For any director undertaking this production, it represents a new creative milestone. Undoubtedly, the Seagull staged by the Honoured Artist of Abkhazia, Madina Argun, stands as yet another testament to her directorial talent and distinctive artistic vision.
