Abkhazian Delegation Arrives in Syria for Damascus International Fair

SUKHUM / AQW'A — A delegation from the Republic of Abkhazia has arrived in Syria to take part in the 62nd Damascus International Fair, which opens on 27 August 2025.

The delegation is led by Foreign Minister Oleg Bartsits, according to the press service of the Abkhazian Foreign Ministry.

It also includes Economy Minister Teimuraz Mikwabia, Culture Minister Daur Kove, Acting Deputy Foreign Minister Irakli Tuzhba, Vice-Rector of Abkhazian State University for International Relations and Economic Affairs Maxim Gvindzhia, senior specialist of the State Investment Agency Said Sangulia, and the head of the Middle East and Africa Department at the Foreign Ministry, Artur Gagulia.

At the airport, the Abkhazian delegation was welcomed by staff from the Abkhazian Embassy in Syria, led by Ambassador Muhammad Ali.

The visit is being made at the invitation of the Syrian Government and President Ahmad al-Sharaa.
