Fish dominates Abkhazia's exports to Türkiye, trade figures show

SUKHUM / AQW'A — Fish and fish products accounted for 73% of Abkhazia's exports to Türkiye in 2025, according to figures released by the republic's Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Ferrous metal waste and scrap made up a further 17.9% of exports, with wood and timber products accounting for 9%.

All trade between the two countries is carried by sea, with customs clearance handled at the ports of Sukhum, Ochamchira and Pitsunda.

Imports from Türkiye were more varied. Mineral products led at 23%, followed by live animals and animal products (21%), machinery, equipment and vehicles (14%), and chemical products (10%). Textiles, clothing and footwear made up 5%, base metals 3%, and other goods accounted for the remaining 24%.
