On February 15 the delegation of the Republic of Abkhazia, comprising the Chairman of the State Committee on Youth and Sports Shazina Avidzba, her Deputy Yuri Logua and the Deputy Foreign Minister Irakly Khintba took part in the international forum "Legacy of the Olympic and Paralympic Games: innovation, technology, personnel" held in the Sochi State University (SSU).

Abkhazian athletes performed well at the Sochi open boxing championship

Abkhazia’s boxing team, which included Lasha Zbiba, Esnat Kviraia, Said Berzenia, Beslan Tarba, Gudisa Akaba, Daniel Tarba, Artem Kakuljan, Astan Mamed-Ogli, Lasha Akaba, Aleks Sarjan, participated in the Sochi open boxing championship styled "New Year tournament". The competition, in which more than 250 athletes from the South of Russia, Chechenia and Abkhazia participated, was held from 26 to 29 December.

Football match between amputee-players of the teams ‘Sukhum’ and ‘Gagra’ ended in a draw

Today there took place a football match organised by the Mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross with the participation of people with disabilities. The event was dedicated to the International Day of people with physical disabilities. Players from the Gagra, Sukhum and Gudauta Regions constituting the two teams "Sukhum" and "Gagra" took part in the match.

Artëm Tabarian wins the chess-tournament "Chanba Memorial - 2013 "

On 7-8 December in Sukhum’s A. Karpov Chess School for Children, there took place the open chess-tournament "Chanba Memorial - 2013". The tournament-games were held in two groups: adult participants competed in Group A; in group B were young players aged 14 and under. The tournament attracted 90 chess-enthusiasts.

The Visit of "Ritsa Kaldakhwara" to London’s "Arsenal"

On 16 October, the winners of the VIIIth Open Football Championship for teams from children's homes and boarding schools "The future depends on you!" in the youngest age-group, namely the team "Ritsa Kaldakhwara", set out on their winning trip from the company MegaFon. For five days, the lads stayed in the home of football, England. A trip to London was the main prize for the two winning teams of the Championship.
