Approximately 200 trucks carrying agricultural products from Abkhazia undergo customs inspections each day. Since the start of the export season in October, the volume of tangerine imports from Abkhazia has increased by 60% compared to the previous year.

The batch was denied entry into Russia. However, the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor) clarified that this incident did not lead to a ban on exports from Abkhazia, and inspections of shipments have continued as usual.
According to Rosselkhoznadzor, Abkhazia has exported a total of 20,100 tons of tangerines to Russia since the beginning of the season. Russia’s overall tangerine imports have increased by 14.4% as of 5 December, reaching 738,300 tons. Türkiye remains the main supplier to Russia, accounting for 311,100 tons, while Abkhazia continues to strengthen its position in the market.
