What do you see when hear Abkhazia? Mines? Barbed wire? Buildings with bullet holes? Encompassing gray? The war ended that only few years ago. And certainly Abkhazia does not seem to be a good place for a trip with your child? In our last post we drew a little dark picture of Abkhazia, today we will try to show you its other face. We found it to be a beautiful land right where Caucasus mountains meet the Black Sea. It’s sunny, interesting and really friendly even for the youngest travellers because full of friendly and outgoing people.

AQUAFON Employees Take Part in a “Subotnik”

SUKHUM -- On 28 March, AQUAFON workers participated in a big clean-up organised by members of Facebook’s social-network group entitled "I want to live in a clean city." More than 70 employees of the Company engaged in a clean-up of the area of the Funicular. As a result of the work done, the central staircase of the Funicular and the square of the upper fountain were tidied up, the lower fountain was painted, and in the area adjacent to it benches and urns were installed.

Abkhaz scientists are working on 'elixir of youth'

The Scientific Research Institute of Experimental Pathology and Therapy of the Academy of Sciences of Abkhazia together with the Institute of Endocrinology of Moscow are working to improve the hormone DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone), known as the "rejuvenating apples" Hormone DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone) is known from the 30s for its anti-aging properties, for which he received an appropriate name - "rejuvenating apples". It is known that this hormone has been used extensively in the circles of the Soviet elite.
