Aslan Bzhania Addresses Armenian People on the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Genocide
SUKHUM / AQW'A ― Every year on April 24, the Armenian diaspora around the world commemorates the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Armenian Genocide.
President Aslan Bzhania addressed the Armenian people on the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Genocide, as reported by the press service of the head of state.
"Today, we remember the tragic date in the history of the Armenian people, which is known as the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Genocide. 108 years later, we still remember this horrific date and bow our heads in memory of the innocent victims," the message reads.
The President emphasized that the mass extermination of people on the basis of their nationality can never be justified by any rational arguments.
"The people of Abkhazia honor the memory of the victims of this tragedy, which has always been regarded in our country as our own pain and misfortune. Abkhazia has become a safe haven and a new homeland for some of the Armenians who escaped the genocide and their descendants," said Bzhania.
Aslan Bzhaniya wished peace, prosperity, and good health to all Armenians in Abkhazia and around the world.
