Russian premier arrives on working visit in Abkhazia

SUKHUM (Itar-Tass) - Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has arrived on a working visit in Abkhazia where he will have talks with members of this country’s government.

His agenda includes a laying of flowers at the Glory Memorial, which is the burial place of Abkhazian home guards who died in the war with Georgia in 1992 and 1993, and a visit to a maternity home in Sukhum that opened August 10 after restoration works.

Russia has expended more than 80 million rubles for the project.

Also, Putin will take part in a session of the republic’s government and will have talks with Abkhazia’s President Sergei Bagapsh.

After the talks, the two Presidents are expected to address a news conference.
