Abkhazia Delivers Humanitarian Aid to Earthquake-Stricken Türkiye
SUKHUM / AQW'A ― A humanitarian mission from Abkhazia, including deputies Aslan Lakoba, Alkhas Bartsits, and Inar Gitsba, as well as Minister of Emergency Situations Lev Kvitsinia, has arrived in Türkiye to provide relief to the areas affected by the recent devastating earthquake.
Inar Gitsba announced the news on his Telegram channel, stating that the group is in Kahramanmaraş, the city at the earthquake's epicenter.
The aid collected in Abkhazia, totaling around 20 tons of cargo, will be handed over to Türkiye's Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Emergency Situations and Emergency Liquidation. The supplies consist of hygiene products, non-perishable food, and bottled water.

On February 6, two powerful earthquakes with magnitudes of 7.7 and 7.6 struck the province of Kahramanmaraş in southeastern Türkiye, causing tremors across 11 provinces and neighbouring countries, including Syria. Over 50,000 people in Türkiye were affected by the earthquakes.
In response to the tragedy, Abkhazia, along with other nations, demonstrated its willingness to support the victims. The National Assembly approved the allocation of $100,000 to assist Turkey and $200,000 to help Syria. The Ministry of Culture and civil activists also organized a collection drive, which concluded on March 17.
