Abkhazia once again ranked as a "partly free" society

According to the ranking of the U.S. human-rights and analytical think-tank "Freedom House", for 2013 Abkhazia has once again been ranked as a "partly free" society. It is noteworthy that, compared with the previous year’s assessment, the level of political freedom in Abkhazia rose by one point - largely by taking into account the free and highly competitive parliamentary elections in 2012. According to the rating by "Freedom House", an influential organisation funded by the U.S. Congress, and which could not be suspected of favouritism towards Abkhazia, our country is one of the leaders in democratic development among all the world’s countries that have not yet attained international recognition.
