Daur Kove and Maxim Gvindzhia Appointed Special Envoys by the MFA of Abkhazia
SUKHUM / AQW'A — Former Foreign Ministers of Abkhazia, Daur Kove and Maxim Gvindzhia, have been appointed as Special Envoys by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia. This was announced by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia.
"By orders from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia, Sergey Shamba, Kove and Gvindzhia have been appointed as Special Envoys of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia," the statement reads.
Daur Kove served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2016 to 2021. In 2021, he worked as Deputy Secretary of the Security Council and as Vice-Rector for International Relations and Economic Affairs at ASU. He holds the rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary. From April 2022 to October 2023, he served as the Minister of Culture of Abkhazia, and since October 2023, he has been the Deputy Head of Administration of the Gal District.
Maxim Gvindzhia served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia from 2010 to 2011. Since 2021, he has been the President's Assistant for International Affairs, and since 2022, he has held the position of Vice-Rector for International Relations and Economic Affairs at the Abkhazian State University (ASU).
