Abkhazian Foreign Minister received Deputy Permanent Representative of the UN Development Programme Shombi Sharp

SUKHUM -- Viacheslav Chirikba received Deputy Permanent Representative of the UN Development Programme Shombi Sharp. Shombi Sharp informed the Minister about the activities of the UN Development Programme, and said that UNDP plans new projects that would help in the development of Abkhazia. "We continue our collaboration with the Abkhazian State University in the field of information technologies, particularly we supply equipment to the information laboratory of the ASU. We also plan to provide assistance in the field of agriculture, in the medical field, and in some other areas," - said Shombi Sharp.

Viacheslav Chirikba designated areas where UNDP assistance would be welcome, with particular emphasis on the restoration of villages - roads, schools and other infrastructure. There is also a need for support in the field of healthcare, as not all institutions in this field meet modern requirements and standards.
