Unveiling 'The Black Sea Pearl': A Grand New Hotel and Health Complex

SUKHUM / AQW'A —  The city of Ochamchira has proudly hosted the grand opening ceremony of the hotel and wellness complex – the "Black Sea Pearl". The nation's highest-ranking official, the Head of State, marked his presence at the inaugural ceremony.

In a festive atmosphere, Ochamchira played host to the official unveiling of the hotel and health complex known as the "Black Sea Pearl". The event witnessed the participation of several notable personalities, including the President of Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhania, Prime Minister Alexander Ankvab, and a delegation of government members.

Mikhail Sichinava, one of the key investors in the project, underlined that the conception of the health complex was inspired by the visionary approach of the Head of State. He said, "Without the backing of the president and the premier, transforming the vision you witness today into reality in such a short span of time would have been a monumental challenge," accentuating the significant role played by the top echelons of the government.

Beslan Bigvava, the Chief Administrator of the Ochamchira district, shed light on the project's history. He noted that the facility, initially a long-abandoned Soviet construction project, was given a fresh lease of life when investors stepped in.

The president, along with members of the government, was taken on an exclusive tour of the newly-erected hotel. The luxurious complex boasts 278 rooms of diverse categories, from high-end "luxury" suites to budget-friendly "economy" options. The hotel currently employs a workforce of 150, of whom 99% are citizens of Abkhazia.

Looking ahead, there are plans to further enhance the complex with the addition of a children's playground and a volleyball court. Moreover, guests can look forward to a second swimming pool featuring heated seawater, further cementing the complex's status as a must-visit destination.
