Elections of President of Abkhazia are scheduled for July 21

SUKHUM -- The corresponding resolution was adopted at the session of the National Assembly of the Parliament of Abkhazia.

There was adopted a resolution “On appointment of President's election” at the meeting of the Session of Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia. 

 The document was presented by Speaker of the National Assembly of Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia Valery Kvarchia: “On September 25, 2014, President assumed his authority. The term of office expires on September 25, 2019. Not later than May 25, 2019, deputies should set an election date. At the same time, no earlier than June 25 and no later than July 25, 2019, elections must be held. It is proposed to approve July 21 as the day of the presidential elections. ”

 Following the discussion, the next elections of the President of Abkhazia are scheduled for July 21. 

 The resolution was adopted by 20 votes "for", with 11 votes "against" and 1 abstention.
