Result negative: in Abkhazia 14 people have been checked for coronavirus over the course of the past day

SUKHUM -- The coronavirus-headquarters again called on citizens to continue to comply with the state of emergency and not to leave their homes.

In Abkhazia, over the past day, no new cases of coronavirus-infection were detected, as reported by the operational headquarters for protecting the population from COVID-19. A total of 14 tests were conducted, all of them giving a negative result.

Also, the headquarters spoke about the condition of citizens who had previously been diagnosed with coronavirus.

"Two of them have pronounced positive dynamics. A patient born in 1925 continues to remain in self-isolation free from negative dynamics. Once again, hospitalisation was offered, which he refused," the report said.

The headquarters again called on citizens to continue to comply with the state of emergency and not to leave their homes without urgent need.

The first case of coronavirus-infection was recorded in the republic on 7 April from a resident of Gagra, who returned on 29 March from a business-trip in Moscow. Two other cases were discovered citizens who had been in contact with him.
