Abkhazian Journalist Leuan Lagulaa to Address Diaspora on Homeland Crisis

ISTANBUL — The Federation of Abkhaz Associations in Türkiye (ABHAZFED), in collaboration with the Şamil Education and Culture Foundation, the Alan Culture and Assistance Foundation, and the Caucasus Foundation, has announced a special event addressing the recent developments in Abkhazia.

Leuan Lagulaa, Director of ApsnyHabar news portal, and a first-hand witness to the ongoing public demonstrations in Abkhazia, will visit the Abkhaz and North Caucasian diaspora in Türkiye from 10 to 12 December 2024. The demonstrations were triggered by legislative proposals that have raised significant concerns about the future of the Abkhazian homeland and its people, drawing widespread public criticism.

During his visit, Lagulaa will evaluate the recent crisis in Abkhazia, explore the underlying issues, and discuss potential solutions with diaspora members.

The highlight of his visit will take place on Wednesday, 11 December, at 19:00, when Lagulaa will speak at the Istanbul Abkhaz Cultural Centre.
