CEC announced final results of Presidential Elections
SUKHUM -- Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Republic of Abkhazia Tamaz Gogia informed about the results of the re-election of President of Abkhazia.
Gogia noted that the final voting data remained practically unchanged from the preliminary ones: “In accordance with Article 18 of the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Abkhazia“ On Elections of President of the Republic of Abkhazia ”, based on the protocols of district election commissions the Central Election Commission of Abkhazia has established:
- The total number of ballots received by election commissions: 131,325;
- The total number of canceled ballots: 36,215;
- The total number of voters included in the voter lists is 132,916;
- The total number of voters who received ballots is 95,110;
- The total number of voters who participated in the vote is 95,109, which is 71.56% of the turnout;
- The total number of votes for presidential candidate, Adgur Ardzinba, is 33,686, which is 35.42%;
- The total number of votes for presidential candidate Aslan Bzhania is 53,741, which is 56.5%;
- The total number of votes for presidential candidate Leonid Dzapshba is 2 114, which is 2.22%;
- The total number of votes against all presidential candidates is 1,666;
- The total number of ballots declared invalid is 3902.”
Tamaz Gogia presented the decision of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Abkhazia:
“Consider Aslan Bzhania as the elected President of the Republic of Abkhazia, with 53,741 votes, which is 56.5%.
To consider Badra Gunba elected Vice President of the Republic of Abkhazia.”
The inauguration of the President of Abkhazia will be held on April 23.
